SmallHD made quite a splash at NAB 2017 with their small focus monitor, and now they’re back at the show with an exciting new lineup of five additional offerings. The new FOCUS line introduces some highly requested upgrades from last year’s releases. (If you want a hands-on review of SmallHD’s original FOCUS monitor, be sure to check out this article.)
Let’s dive into the highlights of the new line.
Focus SDI

The first exciting feature from SmallHD’s NAB showcase is the highly requested FOCUS SDI Monitor. This is an upgrade of their popular FOCUS monitor from last year. Instead of the Micro HDMI port, the FOCUS SDI offers a full-sized SDI input. This means you can enjoy the same high-resolution scopes, customizable false color, and real-time viewable LUTs on the 800-nit bright touchscreen, but with the convenience of a full-sized SDI input. The new FOCUS SDI also comes with SmallHD’s new Tilt Arm, which attaches to the top of your camera via a shoe mount. For a comprehensive review, make sure to watch this video.
Price: $599
Expected Release Date: April 30th, 2018
Focus OLED

Alongside the FOCUS SDI, SmallHD has also upgraded their FOCUS OLED line. The FOCUS OLED HDMI is a slight upgrade of the original FOCUS monitor, featuring the same wide color gamut display and a 7.2v power output for working with DSLR and mirrorless cameras. With its HDMI input, it offers a 5-inch OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1920×1080.
Price: $699
Expected Release Date: April 30th, 2018
Additionally, SmallHD is releasing the FOCUS OLED SDI, which will be available about a month later. This model offers the same edge-to-edge bonded glass display and includes the SmallHD Tilt Arm, but with a full-sized SDI input.
Price: $799
Expected Release Date: May 31st, 2018
Focus Bolt

To complete their latest offerings, SmallHD has unveiled the new BOLT line of 5-inch touchscreens. This line is designed to create a complete ecosystem that is compatible with a 500-ft transmitter, connecting the FOCUS Bolt TX, FOCUS Bolt RX, 703 Bolt monitor/receiver, Teradeck Bolt 500, and Sidekick II receivers. The FOCUS Bolt TX is set to be released in late May.
Price: $1,299
Expected Release Date: May 31st, 2018
The FOCUS Bolt RX will also be available at the same price point and release day, completing the new Bolt ecosystem.
Price: $1,299
Expected Release Date: May 31st, 2018
