NAB 2018 is the ultimate gathering for top digital camera manufacturers, and Canon is making sure they stand out with their highly anticipated release: the Canon C700 FF. After much anticipation, the camera is finally here and receiving rave reviews.
Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting new offering.
Full Frame CMOS Sensor

The C700 FF lives up to its name with a full frame (38.1 x 20.1mm) CMOS sensor that supports readouts at Super 35mm, Super 16mm, anamorphic modes, and full size. With a resolution of nearly 6K-5.9K (5925 x 3140), this new sensor offers enhanced tonality, reduced noise, and an impressive dynamic range of over 15 stops for more natural skin tones and cinematic grading.
Oversampling 4K Processing

In addition to the full frame CMOS sensor, the Canon C700 FF utilizes a new “high-quality debayering algorithm” for oversampling 5.9K in 4K, UHD, 2K, and FHD recording. This advanced technology reduces graininess and moiré, resulting in superior video quality compared to native 4K image capture.
Other Features

The C700 FF shares many features and aesthetics with its predecessor, the C700. However, now these capabilities are available in a full frame format. This includes the ability to record 5.9K RAW 60p (72fps at 2K crop and up to 168fps), as well as the option for both EP and PL mount models with Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus technology.
Here are some more impressive tech specs:
