Are you tired of applying LUTs to your video footage and getting mixed results? Look no further! In this video tutorial, we’ll show you how to get the most out of your LUTs by using the Lumetri Color Panel in Adobe Premiere Pro. Plus, we’re throwing in some free LUTs for you to use!
But first, let’s break down what a LUT actually is. Think of it as a universal color preset that shifts the color information when applied to footage or photos, resulting in superior color accuracy. There are two types of LUTs: Correction LUTs and Creative LUTs. Correction LUTs accurately convert color information, while Creative LUTs yield more stylistic looks.
Now, let’s dive into how to get better results with LUTs. It’s important to properly white-balance and expose your footage before applying a Creative LUT. Once you’ve applied the LUT, adjust the White Balance, Tint, and Exposure in the Basic Correction section of Lumetri Color. Experiment with Vibrance and Saturation in the Creative section for even better results.
And if you want to take it a step further, you can export your own LUTs based on your Lumetri Color settings. It’s easy – just make sure you’re working in the Color workspace in Premiere Pro, click the menu button next to Lumetri Color, and export a .cube LUT.
