Aputure has done it again! At NAB 2018, they unveiled their latest RGB-Panel Light, which is absolutely insane (in the best way possible). But that’s not all – they’ve also updated their trusty 120d light, and as someone who uses the original frequently, I’m beyond excited for the improved version. Aputure is known for listening to their customers, and this update is proof of that. The light is now 30% stronger, and the controller box and power adapter are now combined into one unit, making it much more convenient. Plus, the dimming power has been improved, allowing you to bring the light all the way down to 1%. This is a game-changer for those who frequently shoot in dimly lit scenes. And let’s not forget about the new hand brake-style yoke and two-screw mounting plate, which make the light fixture sturdier and more secure. Aputure has truly outdone themselves with this update. Oh, and did we mention they’re also planning on releasing a leko lens for the 120d and 300d models? Filmmakers, get ready to welcome it with open arms. We don’t know exactly when this updated light will be available, but we do know it’ll be sometime this summer with a slightly higher price tag than the 120d. Keep an eye out for it! And if you’re looking for more NAB coverage, be sure to check out the announcements from Sigma, DJI, Fujifilm, Canon, and Atomos.
