Sony has just unveiled its latest masterpiece, the Sony a9, solidifying its position as the second largest manufacturer in the full-frame U.S. camera market, right behind Canon. This groundbreaking camera puts an end to all the speculations and rumors.
The Sony a9 boasts the title of being the first 35mm full-frame camera with a stacked CMOS sensor, enabling data speed processing that is twenty times faster than its predecessors. For videographers, the a9 offers stunning 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160) across the entire sensor width.

This camera utilizes a full pixel readout without pixel binning to capture 6K footage and oversample it for incredibly detailed 4K videos. Videographers can also opt to shoot in 35mm size or full HD at up to 120fps with a maximum bitrate of 100 Mbps.
When it comes to storage, the Sony a9 features dual SD card slots that can be customized to record simultaneously for backup or used individually.

Additionally, this camera is equipped with an ethernet port (wired LAN terminal) for lightning-fast image transfer to FTP servers.

The a9 will be the first Sony camera to utilize the new Sony battery (model NP-FZ100), which offers 2.2 times the capacity of previous Sony full-frame models, allowing for extended shooting sessions. On the back of the camera body, you’ll find a convenient multi-selector joystick for effortless focus shifting.
