The 2018 Consumer Electronics Show is in full swing this week, and DJI is stealing the spotlight with their latest gear. Even before CES began, DJI unveiled their new lineup, which includes the successor to their Osmo mobile stabilization device, a Ronin-branded DSLR handheld stabilizer, and an incredible $99 consumer drone developed in collaboration with Ryze Robotics, a promising robotics startup.
Introducing Tello

When it comes to drones, DJI is the undisputed king. With their long-standing reputation and GoPro’s exit from the market, DJI continues to dominate. Their latest release, the Tello, is DJI’s first low-cost consumer drone.
Teaming up with Ryze Robotics, DJI has created a unique piece of equipment. The Tello features an intel processor for photo processing, image stabilization, and the ability to capture 5mp pictures. While it may only offer 720p video transmission, it’s still an impressive feature for a drone priced under $100.
Now, the Tello may not be designed for cinematic footage, but it’s definitely going to be the next must-have item for kids. With VR support for first-person flying and an app that allows you to connect a controller for precise control, the Tello also comes with Scratch, an MIT-developed coding system that lets you learn programming and customize your drone. Keep an eye out for its release in the next few weeks, because this drone is going to be a game-changer.

Introducing Osmo Mobile 2
If you’re in the market for a quality mobile phone stabilizer, look no further than the Osmo Mobile 2. DJI has not only upgraded a few features but also dropped the price to an impressive $129.99, making it more accessible to the average consumer.
The new Osmo Mobile 2 offers full support for portrait recording, simpler controls, and an incredible 15-hour battery life. With these improvements and the reduced price, this piece of equipment is bound to be in the hands of every on-the-go cinematographer and even your friendly neighborhood skate crew in the coming months.
Introducing Ronin-S
The Ronin-S is an impressive addition to DJI’s already outstanding line of stabilizers. Combining all the features of a two-handed stabilizer into one, the Ronin-S can handle the payload of a typical DSLR or mirrorless camera while providing top-grade DJI stabilization performance. It even offers focus-assist control from the base of the rig.
This stabilizer is DJI’s answer to Zhiyun and Feiyu, who currently dominate the one-handed stabilization market. Once the technical specs are released, we’ll have a better idea of how it stacks up against the competition. But for now, it’s safe to say that DJI is shaking up the game.
