Get ready, photographers and videographers! The highly anticipated Canon 5D Mark IV is almost here, and we’ve got all the juicy rumors, specs, lens options, pricing, and potential launch dates to keep you on the edge of your seat. Back in January, we started hearing whispers about Canon’s latest 5D camera, and by June, we knew it unofficially existed. Now, in mid-August, we’re hearing that the official announcement could come as soon as August 25th, with a 5D-specific event in Japan on August 27th.
So, what can we expect from the 5D Mark IV? Rumors suggest it will launch with an all-new EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II lens and a secondary option of a 24-70/f4 IS lens. And while we may not get the dual CFast and SD card slots we were hoping for, we can still expect 4K footage up to 30fps, built-in Wi-Fi and GPS, and a 30.4 MP sensor.
As soon as Canon officially announces the 5D Mark IV, we’ll be putting together another one of our camera buying guides, so stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, share your thoughts on the latest rumors in the comments below. Are you excited about the 5D Mark IV, or are you still eyeing those 4K mirrorless cameras from Sony, Panasonic, and now Fujifilm?
